SHARK WEEK WAS SO YESTERDAY… BARK WEEK IS HERE!
Why should dogs get just one day? International Dog Day is August 26, but we’re not stopping there. We’re turning it into BARK WEEK! From August 24-30, 2026, Staypineapple is celebrating our favorite furry friends with a whole week of wagging tails, happy pups and giving back to dogs in need.
During Bark Week, 100% of pet fees from reservations booked will be donated to Seattle Humane to help support shelter animals and their journey to finding forever homes. Now that’s something worth wagging about.
If you’re in the Seattle area, we’re collecting unopened dog food and treats at our Seattle hotels, including The Maxwell Hotel, Hotel FIVE, Watertown Hotel and University Inn, to donate to Seattle Humane. As a thank-you, donors will receive a free pineapple dog toy from Toby & Linus, while supplies last!
The Staypineapple team is even getting its paws dirty to help the pups during Bark Week! We’ll spend a day volunteering at Seattle Humane’s Pet Food Bank, lending a helping hand in packing delivery orders for community members. Interested in volunteering yourself? Join us for Bark to School at The Maxwell Hotel on Saturday, August 29!
We’re sending Bark Week out with a bang — or should we say, a bark? Join us for Bark to School at The Maxwell Hotel near Seattle Center on Saturday, August 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Here’s a taste (or a lick) of the fun things going on at the event:
- Get your dog’s Bark to School close-up with a Polaroid photo by Clooney Dog & Friends and Joybird Studios
- Get a live pet portrait masterpiece drawn by Dozfy
- Get creative with custom coloring sheets illustrated by Sie-ce featuring adoptable Seattle Humane dogs
- Meet Seattle Humane: Stop by to make a donation, learn more about adoptable pets and find out how you can help
- Grab a pup cup (or two) for your furr-iend
- Enjoy drinks and snacks available for purchase for the humans
The event is free, but we encourage you to RSVP!
We’ll also be introducing Staypineapple’s “Paws on Payroll” across our social media, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at the furry faces who take their hotel jobs very seriously — especially the snack-related duties.
Throughout the week, we’ll be featuring our animal-focused partners, including Zoundz, the sound therapy app for pets and our official Bark Week wellness sponsor, and VEG ER for Pets, an emergency veterinary care provider with locations near Staypineapple hotels.
So grab the leash, pack the treats and get ready to make some memories with your bestest bud!
