STAYPINEAPPLE LEADERSHIP

All hotels endeavor to deliver great hospitality but we know that is really hard to do. Our voices will be the talk that backs up our walk. The purpose of having a shocking and clever attitude is to stand out amongst our competitors, but not scare people away. With witty banter and open arms, Staypineapple will create “Remember that one time when…” moments.

”You’ll see it when you believe it” – Dr. Wayne Dyer

My thing

After spending 20 ish years in both the business of Hospitality and the acquisition and development of Real Estate, combining them seemed like a great next step. Pineapple hospitality, its assets, its mission, but mostly its people are my pride and joy manifested. I am privileged to work with what I believe is a best in class group of hospitality professionals who know their stuff, but most importantly bring their hearts and integrity to the work of enhancing the pineapple vision every day. We are unified around the single idea that hotels aren't places ...they are experiences. From this "core" belief grows Pineapple each day.

Without the love and support of my husband Steve and son Max none of the above would be possible. Oh and let's not forget the laughter and love that comes from our two furry family members Dash and Kiska the Pineapple huskies.

Lead, follow or get out of the way…

My thing

Over the past thirty years I have been able to play Monopoly for a living; buying, selling and managing real estate of all colors. This has turned into a love of hotels and the challenges of finding, purchasing, financing and helping with operations.

I have been blessed with a wife who is extremely loving and supportive of my crazy obsession with all things real estate related. Our four children have spread far and wide seeking the benefits of education and discovering the advantages of living somewhere it does not rain 6o inches a year.

My best day away from work is a spent riding my Harley on back roads discovering the next roadhouse to grab lunch, what makes it even better is my wife loves riding with me.

My thing

David is a proven technology leader and entrepreneur. Having founded, run and sold small businesses, he brings a refreshing blend of business acumen with strong information systems knowledge. Presently serving as CIO of Pineapple Hospitality, David innovates guest room technology and oversees all IT infrastructure for this growing independent brand of hotels and restaurants. Originally an entrepreneur, David started his career founding a web application development and data center services company; he built the business up to seven employees, eventually selling it twelve years later. After a short stint doing consulting, David was recruited to start a new IT services department for Hard Drives Northwest and Computer Stop. During this two year period, he built up a large client list and helped optimize the companies’ point of sale and virtual server architecture. Having been the IT consultant for what would become Pineapple Hospitality, David was recruited to join this growing company directly in his current capacity.

“Be Distinct or Be Extinct” – Tom Peters

My thing

Leadership and communication, the study and application of both, mostly with sales and marketing teams, is my passion. Over 30 years, my career has taken me from hotels to American Express to The Effectiveness Institute….and then back to hotels. Because as many know .. it gets in your blood. It is the people and the genuine, kind but competitive character of hotel sales teams that make it fun to be a hospitality sales leader.

It’s exciting to be a part of this dynamic and growing team and our mission for Staypineapple sales is to be the absolute best in class, customer-focused, most responsive and professional of any sales organization! We want our customers to love working with our sales and catering service teams as much as they love our hotels.

When not immersed in Staypineapple, I love time with my two daughters, playing in the outdoors, cooking and drinking great wine with friends and family.

My thing

A small town guy with a love of travel, I’ve been fortunate to travel the world over pursuing my dreams. Originally from the Columbia Basin in Washington State, my early career sent me to San Francisco, then on to Connecticut, New York, and “back” to Bellevue in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I’ve worked for limited, full, and luxury service hotels at airports, in suburbs, in urban cores, in corporate, leisure, and even casino markets. From Seattle to Miami, Boston to San Diego, and everywhere in between, I couldn’t have asked for a more engaging line of work.

In my spare time you’ll find my wife and I chasing our two children, working in the yard, visiting nearby wineries, or perhaps enjoying a bit of outdoor relaxation via snowboard, bicycle, golf cart, or BBQ. GO COUGS!

“In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.” -Coco Chanel

My thing

Della-Rae brings more than 25 years of hospitality experience and a degree from Washington State University’s Hospitality Management / Professional Development Program. It all started with a desire to work on cruise ships - so she started small with the local Seattle company, Clipper Vacations. After getting motion sick on her first sailing, she changed roles and opted to work on land and take cruise reservations instead.

After seven years with Clipper Vacations, Della-Rae was ready to tackle the world of hotels. She spent ten years at the iconic Sorrento Hotel in downtown Seattle. Her career flourished as her roles and responsibilities grew into being Sorrento's Executive Assistant Manager. Her successes created a new, exciting opportunity and she moved on to join the opening leadership team of the historic Arctic Club Hotel in Seattle.

In February of 2010, a mutual colleague introduced Della-Rae to Michelle Foreman Barnet. And friends, that introduction changed Pineapple history. Della-Rae takes pride in being Pineapple Hospitality's "Employee Number One" and wearing many hats. In her role as Hotel Asset Manager, she loved caring for the hotels and always maintaining the vision of maximizing the unique Pineapple experiences for guests. In her current role as Director of Marketing Della-Rae has a hand in all things Pineapple, from design to advertising and social media campaigns.

When she’s not dreaming of pineapples, Della-Rae enjoys spending time with her family

When not in the office you will most likely find Dennis on the golf course desperately trying to maintain a single digit handicap, at the dog park with his wife and their 5-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog named Mulligan, or off on the occasional skiing adventure. Their annual family travel schedule mandates a minimum of one trip to Hawaii each year, a visit home to both Denver and Salt Lake, one visit to Disneyland to keep their kid-at-heart spirit alive, and exploration of a new international destination, if they still have any vacation time left.

"The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist" -Verbal, Usual Suspects

My thing

I grew up in Redmond, WA where I still reside today with my wife, Carrie, and twins: Cody and Kayla. Cody enjoys reminding his sister he is the "older" brother, by 51 minutes. Both kids enjoy most sports: basketball, soccer, running, biking, swimming and cell phone usage. My wife, kids and I all love to travel. In fact, the kids had frequent flyer plans by 2mo. old.

My professional career started with 11 years at Wyndham Worldwide working in Finance, Customer Service and Corporate Sales and Marketing. After stints with Microsoft and a SaaS start-up, I am happy to land back in the travel and hospitality industry with Staypineapple!

“You’re only given a little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it.” ~ Robin Williams

My thing

Tyler joined Staypineapple in July of 2010 as the Assistant General Manager of The Maxwell Hotel. Since that time, he has transitioned from Hotel Operations to the corporate office, when in March of 2014 he was asked to create the Purchasing Department.

Aside from overseeing all things “Pineapple Purchasing”, Tyler has assisted with the onboarding and opening of each hotel we’ve brought on board. As a member of the hotel opening “Brute Squad” team, Tyler has done everything from driving a truck across country (more than once…) to hauling mattresses up 7 flights of stairs.

When Tyler isn’t “Pineappling”, some of his hobbies include skiing, camping, boating, mismanaging his Fantasy Football team, and spending time with his wife, and their furry children.

Our daily mission is to be culture carriers, expressing our core brand essence through our interactions with team members, guests and business partners.

Team work makes the Dream Work!!

My thing

A Native of New York, raised in a section called Williamsburg Brooklyn. Early on I worked in the family owned and operated construction business. During those years I developed a passion for Architecture.

I served from 1984 to 1995 in the U.S. Army as a 12 Bravo (Combat Engineer) and 71 Mike (Chaplain Assistant), I have been Stationed in Korea, Egypt, Kentucky, New Jersey, Washington and have travelled to Israel, Jordan, Germany, Honduras, Panama, Mexico and Puerto Rico.

My early passion for Architecture helped to lay the ground work and foundation for what has become a 30-year career of progressively diversified, multifaceted, trades, commercial, assisted living, residential, hotel, and multi-site properties experiences.

Those experiences have allowed me to be a contributing member of Columbia West Properties and Pineapple Hospitality.

I have had the privilege of being a part of both companies’ tremendous growth and diversification as experienced in the past 12+ years of employment.

I thoroughly enjoy working and collaborating with the diverse team of highly creative and dedicated team members both at the office and at the hotels. It always amazes me how enthusiastic and dedicated team members are to providing our guests with the Pineapple Experience.

To what do I owe my success? I owe my success to the leadership who invested their time and energy in mentoring me to be a better employee and those who continue to support, believe in me and challenge me throughout my career.

My other interests include motorcycling, camping, finish Carpentry, Continuing Education, languages (Spanish, Korean and Arabic) and Family foremost.
