What's at Millennium Park
Millennium Park is 24.5 acres of public space in the heart of the Loop, and genuinely worth more than a quick photo by the Bean. A few things worth knowing:
- Cloud Gate ("the Bean"): The obvious one. Worth it, especially early morning before the crowds
- Jay Pritzker Pavilion: One of the largest outdoor concert venues in the city, with free summer concerts throughout the season. Check millenniumpark.org for the schedule.
- Crown Fountain: Interactive video sculpture by Jaume Plensa, beloved by kids and adults alike
- McCormick Tribune Ice Rink: Free admission skating in winter (skate rental available)
Right Outside the Door
A few things that are essentially on the hotel's doorstep worth knowing about:
- Sundays on State: A recurring event series in September and October that closes State Street to traffic right next to the hotel
- Chicago Thanksgiving Parade: Runs down State Street every November; book direct for our parade packages
