The Hotel for University of Washington Visits
Watertown Hotel, A Staypineapple Hotel
Watertown Hotel is steps from the University of Washington campus — close enough that you can walk to a morning admissions tour, catch a Huskies game in the afternoon, and be back for dinner without a car.
On the UW campus
The UW campus is one of the most beautiful in the country and worth exploring beyond whatever brought you there. A few highlights:
- Suzzallo Library: The Gothic reading room is genuinely stunning and open to visitors. Worth a stop even if you're not here for academics.
- The Quad: 30-plus cherry blossom trees that put on one of Seattle's best spring shows, usually late March through mid-April. Check our cherry blossom page for timing tips.
- Henry Art Gallery: UW's contemporary art museum, free!
- Husky Stadium: Home of UW football and one of the best stadium settings in college sports, right on the water's edge of Lake Washington
Getting there from the hotel
Watertown is a short walk to campus. The U District Light Rail Station is 4 minutes on foot — useful for getting to and from Husky Stadium on game days when the area gets congested. Grab a complimentary Pineapple Bike if you'd rather ride the Burke-Gilman Trail straight to campus.
When to visit
- Admissions visits: Watertown is the most convenient hotel for campus tours
- Husky football: Season runs September through November
- Graduation weekend: June commencement draws families from across the country; book well in advance
- Cherry blossom season: Late March through mid-April; the Quad is worth planning around
